An immersive journey that takes visitors through some of the stages of Dante and Virgil’s otherworldly journey through the circles of Hell. Among Charon, the Furies and the Harpies, the audience encounters mythological creatures, animals from medieval bestiaries and historical figures such as Ugolino della Gherardesca, Farinata degli Uberti, Agnello Brunelleschi and Paolo and Francesca.

The exhibition unfolds through life-size scenes, enriched by immersive sets, soft lighting, background sounds and video projections, including an actor playing Dante himself. The exhibition also includes original editions of the Divine Comedy illustrated by Gustave Doré, from which the three-dimensional reconstructions of the scenes are taken.
