Training courses

The eighteenth-century Villa Baciocchi, home of the Zoological Museum, hosts an educational excellence represented by the “Bottega Scuola Naturaliter”, the only one nationally accredited by the Tuscany Region in the formation of the “Museum Taxidermist”. The Master Craftsman, Gianluca Salvadori, and his staff, open the doors of the laboratory of Naturaliter, a leading international company in the production of animals in taxidermy and dioramas, to those who, on a professional and / or hobby basis, intend to acquire the techniques and the knowledge that only the professional experience and training ability of the Master Craftsman can guarantee. The courses that took place in 2019 (for a total of 12 days), were attended in total by over 30 participants from Lombardy, Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, Tuscany, Campania; the 2020 target intends to enhance the educational offer of the Bottega Scuola with the recognition of the professional profile of the Museum Taxidermist, taking into account the importance that this figure has both in the production and conservation of taxidermised animals present in the Natural History Museums.
